I won!

Lance's work had a summer party yesterday. They hosted a contest for the best beans, the best potato salad, and the best pie. I had Lance sign us up for the pie contest. We made our favorite, French Silk Pie, which is essentially chocolate mousse pie.

This pie is supposed to be served chilled but after being out in the park for 90 minutes, it certainly wasn't chilled anymore. Nevertheless, when they announced the winner, it was me!

I'm so flattered. My melted gooey chocolate mousse pie beat out 11 others to win. Now we've got a $50 gift certificate to Outback Steakhouse. The kids were pretty impressed we'd won and even more impressed that we'd won a trip to a restaurant for free. (Too bad they won't be going with us to the free restaurant ... :)
