Last week, while waiting at the elementary school for Susanna, an unknown first grader struck up a conversation with me. She asked if I was one of the mommies. I told her I was one of the mommies and gestured to the other parents waiting for their kids. She looked confused but walked away.
She came back a few minutes later and said, "You're so small to be one of the mommies. Maybe you are really, really, REALLY old, and that's why you're so small."
I laughed and assured her that even though I was old, I wasn't that old yet. She seemed mostly satisfied with this answer ... mostly. As she walked away, she hesitated, turned around, and casually questioned one more time, "Are you sure your not just really old?"
That is soooo funny!
